Can’t Get Out of This Mood MP3

Can't Get Out of This Mood

Reflections – a ponderance on a moment in time, an individual, group or place. The memories, which once seemingly mundane, are now not as much pined for, as when the recognition of their refusal to hand over the past to erasure is realized. So they lay, rooted in the fiber of one’s soul until the next thought, sound, smell or song awakens their restless sleep. With Kent Strand on piano, Ruth Davies on bass, Jeff Minnieweather on drums and percussion, Bill Dendle on Trombone and guitar, Noel Jewkes on Alto, Tenor, clarinet and flute, and Carolyne Swayze on vocals. Recorded at the American Federal of Musician’s Local 6 Recording Studio on January 27 and 28, 2020, San Francisco, California.

Author: Carolyne

Hailing from Chicago, Swayze relocated to California in the early 1970s, making a thirty-year career in local government. For almost that same length of time, she has performed as a pop/jazz singer, songwriter, and composer, working mainly on the San Francisco Bay Area hotel and country club circuits throughout the mid-1970s through the early 1990s. Working not only with various side-bands, Carolyne also sang with the Jimmy Diamond Orchestra for nearly twenty years. In 1995 she relocated to Sacramento, and in 2016, founded the Sacramento Jazz Cooperative, a 501(c)(3) dedicated to preserving classic jazz as an American Artform. In 2020, she released her second album, Reflections.
